There is no time of year like Christmas, because there is no time of year where so many snacks are present. After all, that's why it's called the "most wonderful time of the year," right? So kick up your holiday apps this year with an edible wreath complete with salami roses, hot dog boots, and elegant hors d'oeuvres.
Total time: 30 minutes
Ingredients for 8 people
12 cherry tomatoes
24 mini mozzarella balls
basil
rosemary, whole
20 green olives
20 black olives
12 sun-dried tomatoes
15 artichoke hearts
10 slices of prosciutto
10 slices of chorizo
10 slices of salami
10 slices of coppa (italian ham)
12 pickles
4 hot dogs, cooked
4 oz of cream cheese
paprika
thyme
mixed greens
Step 1/3
Cut hot dogs into 4 pieces on a bias, attach one end and one middle piece together at a right angle with a toothpick creating a boot shape. Grab a sweet potato and stick the toothpicks into, then pipe cream cheese on top like the fluff on Santa's boot. Dust with paprika and top with thyme, set aside.
Step 2/3
Place one slice of prosciutto on a plate then line with rounds of chorizo, salami, and copa, fold the prociutto over the other meat and roll into a flower. Make 5. Set aside.
Step 3/3
Using a mix of skewers and rosemary branches, make app kebabs with olives, cherry tomatoes, mini mozzarellas, sun-dried tomatoes, prosciutto, basil, and artichoke hearts. On a large serving dish, cover with mixed greens, leaving the center empty, then place down the kebabs, decorate with your meat roses and hot dog boots. Finish things off with a bow made of prosciutto. Serve to hungry holiday guests.
